De iMod als telemetriemodule geeft enorme mogelijkheden tot registratie van en toegang tot gegevens, met behulp van de ingebouwde input/output interfaces en communicatiekanalen, zoals Ethernet of GPRS . Om de iMod te kunnen gebruiken, moet slechts de juiste configuratie worden gedefinieerd. De iMod SDK die gebaseerd is op Java-taal maakt het mogelijk om de ondersteuning van eigen protocollen toe te voegen. Mogelijkheid om eigen apparaten/sensoren 1-Wire bus en MBus te scannen (automatische configuratie).
