Car accidents are now the leading cause of teenage fatalities. Every day we heard about road accidents, car accidents. The only reason of happening of these accidents is teenager’s careless driving. These days the teenagers start driving car or vehicles from a very young age. The typical serious accident for a 16- 17 old driver is a one car accident, due to speed and inattention where the driver loses control and hits with a pole or tree. These are some general cases where the teenagers are risk takers.

Mostly, families have four wheelers which encourage the teenagers to drive on roads or give a try on their vehicle. But there are no beginner roads just for the teenagers, painted green, with fewer hills, gentler turns, wider lanes, better lightening for driving. There are no intermediate driving levels. So, it’s not surprising that teenage have three times as many accidents as adults. They don’t have the same kind of accident as adults. Why teenage drivers are at a greater risk?

Inexperience- The majority of teenage drivers does not have sufficient practical knowledge to handle the complex task of driving when they are first licensed. The Children’s who are coming at the age of 16 -17 start thinking that they can easily handle car wheels. In fact they forced their parents or family members and ask them to give some steps to drive car. They are desperately waiting for the day when they will be able to drive car on their own. They do not have enough driving experience but drives car on high traffic roads.

They do not take proper driving lessons and set their mentality that they are good drivers. This over confidence of teenagers also leads to happening big accidents and fatalities. So, this is also one of the greater risks of teenage driving.

Impulsiveness- Impulsive behaviors can be dangerous for teenagers. By virtue of their social, emotion and biological developments, teenage drivers tend to engage in impulsive behavior. If there are more teenage presents in the vehicle with the teenage driver than he will definitely engage in their impulsive behaviors which can be very risks for them. These young drivers are more easily distracted than experienced drivers which distract their attention while driving the vehicle.

With lack of driving experience, the teenagers will unable to recognize the conditions that are risky when they are driving. So, impulsive behavior of teenagers is also dangerous that can cause great risks during their car driving.

Exposure- Driving with passengers is really dangerous for inexperience drivers. The serious and fatal crashes are only increases with the number of young passengers in the vehicle. Mostly, Young drivers drive their cars in high speed to impress other young occupants who are also sitting with them. Due to these high speed and inattention, there are possible chances that a driver will lose its control and hit car with a pole or tree.  In fact, these days teenagers are also taking alcohol while enjoying their night parties and drives cars in late nights which turns in to fatal car crashes. So, exposure is also one of the biggest factors of teenage road accidents.

These are some major reasons of risks for teenage driving.  For these types of risks, many states do not allow young drivers to drive at night and they can’t carry more than a single passenger for starting five or six months after obtaining their license.
