This is one of the most beautiful scenic safari regions of the country, and the added advantage is that it is filled with wildlife and many species of birds throughout the year. Areas of primary focus is the Ngorongoro Crater, the world's largest intact volcanic caldera. Here families get all the big five animals and much more. Another must see while you are in this part of Africa is the highest mountain, Kilimanjaro. Impressive mountain dominates the skyline miles, measuring a staggering 19, 340 feet.
That's why I think you should seriously consider:
- It has a majestic mountain: Mt Kilimanjaro! The mountain name is derived from two Swahili words wrong Carpets (hill or little mountain), and Njaro (greatness, is also used as a white or shining). - If you can not do all of the above, in one trip, go only to the Northern Circuit (Serengeti National Park, Ngorongoro Crater, ...), and maybe spend some time in Zanzibar (recommended) or Mafia islands.
- Dar es Salaam is a very nice Yacht Club and Slipway is great if you want to eat pizza, or just wander around the coast!
- On the expenditure side is not the cheapest, but you can certainly find affordable if you're willing to camp (or do not mind backpacking). Also, there are various companies that organize trips throughout Africa, large trucks (overland trucks). Definitely cool if you're young and looking like no other! ;) Experience
- People are very friendly in Tanzania, and the country is safe enough. Of course, as in all major countries (and cities, in particular), you need to keep an eye on your hand bag and personal belongings. Also, make sure you carry expensive items, when required!
