A windsock is defined as a truncated cloth, which is normally mounted on a pole such as in the airports, to evaluate the direction of the wind of the area. The device catches the air, which inflates the sock and flows in alignment of the direction of the wind. It is mounted on a pole with a mechanism so that it can fly freely and rotates on a pivot according to the direction of the wind. Thermometer is an ordinary tool with which you can obtain the temperature of the atmosphere and if you maintain the record of the temperature of the air for some consecutive days, you can identify the trend of the temperature of the atmospheric conditions. The trend of the temperature is a great way in forecasting weather conditions of the place. Rain gauges are useful to understand the quantity of rains. If you identify heavy rains for consecutive days, it generally points out to foggy weather in recent future. It also helps know the humidity level of the area. The barometer tells about the pressure of the place, which is a great factor for weather changing conditions. Low pressure of the atmosphere may bring heavy rains and high pressure identifies with calm weather.
