Dermatitis is a type of skin inflammation which may be caused by using an inferior skin care product or may just appear for no apparent cause. Many face creams and moisturizers contain preservatives such as Parabens and stabilizers such as ethylene diamine and other skin sensitizers which can cause reactions especially if the person already has a sensitive skin. Such products as fungicides, plastic hardeners, pesticides, epoxy resin and formaldehyde resin which are skin sensitizers cause dermatitis. Irritant dermatitis is an inflammation of the skin typically caused by scaling, erythema and mild oedema. This is caused by a non specific response to direct chemical damage which affects the hands due to a constant exposure of solvents, hand soaps and cleaners. In comparison to contact dermatitis, irritant contact dermatitis studies remain inconclusive. If you experience contact dermatitis after using certain skin care products, do not switch to another brand as you may make matters far worse.
