2011 was a year of continued growth for BC’s mining industry, proving once again the important role mining plays in the provincial economy

Hongxing Machinery recently conducted interviews with key figures in BC's mining industry, to get their views on the year that has passed, and on the year ahead. Their positive perspectives were clear. With projects such as Red Chris in development and Copper Mountain now online, plus hundreds of potential sites being explored, mine operators, mine suppliers of ore beneficiation equipment, the Mining Association of BC (MABC) and the Association for Mineral Exploration BC (AMEBC) had reasons to celebrate. As well, BC continued to lead the way on revenue sharing arrangements providing a roadmap for how the industry and First Nations can work together in the future. The government maintained their firm commitment, both at the provincial and federal levels, to the Highway 37 Northwest Transmission Line. This will make some very significant projects in the north west of the province possible, and it will be able to provide power to other industrial and residential users.

There are still challenges that lie ahead, but the industry should be pleased with recent process changes that will reflect positively on the industry:

Work on land access issues, which can limit or block access to resources, has and will continue.From mine operators, to the Mining Suppliers Association, to AMEBC and MABC, a real shift in thinking about Corporate Social Responsibility has emerged with engaging and supporting communities as the industry moves towards a future of sustainability and profitability.The recent ‘One Project, One Review’ permitting process announcement by the federal government is a welcome decision by the mining industry, as it will ensure timely decision making on potential new projects.Planning will continue for infrastructure necessary to be able to move and ship products such as coal—a commodity with continued and increasing demand—to customers around the world.Work will also continue on building a new and young industry workforce, which can sustain the province's existing operations, provide the backbone for its growth, and ensure a skilled labour force into the future.raymond mill:http://www.crusher-machine.com/13.html
