Protect yourself from (Pyf)…
Pyf… Angry people especially those who are angry at NO ONE’s fault. They don’t care who is hurt as long as they can hurt someone. Stay clear. As the garbage truck is moving, it does not care if garbage falls on people passing by. You are that passerby. It is YOUR responsibility to stay clear, no one else’s.
Pyf… Ignoring things you don’t understand. Dare and expose yourself to things you don’t understand yet. Art, music, theatre, architecture, sports, a bee hive, this world’s costliest painting – ‘the scream’ by Munch at 120 million dollars. Goodness gracious. To think of it, someone is ready to pay that obscene amount of money for a scream. I would have gladly screamed twice. You know, buy 1 get 1 free kind of an offer. Now will someone ever paint a smile? If the world sees ‘the scream’ as a classic and you don’t understand it yet…. Well, it will keep you grounded. My mother too had screamed when she had seen my first painting. Alas.. Well that is another story for another day.
Pyf… Running after results that are NOT important to you. Otherwise, that can be such a colossal waste of time and energy. Later on, regret!
Pyf… Getting blinded by events that don’t matter. They distract you. They make you a mosquito from a butterfly. Need I say more?
Pyf… Emotional riot caused by failures. To fail is the best way to explore and learn. Celebrate them. Hug them. Grow out of them. Those who are serious minded people for whom a smile is an unnecessary stretch of facial muscles, the lines 1, 2 and 3 in this paragraph are not applicable to you. Parents, I am sorry if children have already read it. You do believe in prayers, don’t you. Then, what are you waiting for? For further guidance, refer to the garbage truck point in paragraph one.
Pyf… Taking your laptop for status updates and working, while you are on a ‘holiday’! Let me expose you. You are scared people will forget you exist. There! Your fears are now in print. Sorry
Pyf… Micro managing your children. Don’t you want them to become adults. Just because you do not want your child to be hurt, can you carry them in yours arms their entire life?
Pyf… Creating excuses for your misbehaviour. Whatever be the context, if you have misbehaved, you MUST say sorry. It’s already late. Go now…
Pyf… Protecting yourself from uncomfortable situations. You must LEARN how to face it. This is applicable only for adults. Or those who believe they are adults. Or those who want to be adults. On second thoughts, if you are able to read this, it is applicable to you. Did I make you uncomfortable? I am glad.
Pyf… Being self-employed in finding mistakes ‘all the time’ in people who matter to you. You are thinking you are improving them. They believe you are what doctors would call with distaste ‘piles’.
Pyf… Being rude. Be graceful in all situations. You may have to be tough. You need not be rough. Did you not get the same thoughts as you read this message?
Pyf… Being labelled as a ‘sissy’. In case you didn’t know, that is the respectful name for someone who is all the time complaining. When business is bad, you complained about business being bad. When business is good and employees are working double time to execute orders, you are complaining about the electricity bills!!! Even God cannot save you…
Pyf… Giving good speeches. My good lord. Don’t do this mistake. Give bad speeches. It will reduce the number of invitations you get. Bingo! You now have more time with yourself and your family. This is if in the first place, the speeches were not given to the family. In that case, since you have time, read this message again.
Pyf… Ignoring to forward this message. Pass it on to all those people who matter to you. They will be glad. Pass it on to people who do not matter to you. You will be glad. If this message can make one person smile as they read it, we will be glad.
