Q1 Define Integrated Applications?

· Integrated Applications is the series of applications designed so that output of one application can be automatically the input for another application with no modifications or human changes.

Q2. Define integrated software applications?

· Application packages that has considerable computing power focusing on a single task such as word processing etc. called integrated software but include in it several applications, such as a word processor, a spreadsheet, and a database program.

· An integrated software application for business gives you the ability to integrate the different information sources that focus to your business and this integrated information can then be shared by integrated software applications such as Enterprise resource planning (ERP).

Q3. Define the different integrated software applications?

a) Enterprise resource planning (ERP):-

· Enterprise resource planning is the business system that integrates all facts of the business including planning, manufacturing, sales and marketing.

· ERP is the software that integrates all departments and functions across an organization into a single computer system that can serve all those departments’ particular needs.

b) Customer relationship management (CRM):-

· It is the software-based technique designed to select and manage customers in order to maximise their long-term relation to an organization.

· CRM includes all aspects of interaction of a company with its customer, whether it is sales or service related.

c) Supply Chain management (SCM):-

· It is the control of materials, information, and finances as they move in a process from supplier to manufacturer to wholesaler to retailer to consumer.

· It is the process of planning, implementing and controlling the operations of the supply chain as efficiently as possible.

d) Business Process Re-engineering (BPR):-

· Business process Re-engineering combines a strategy of promoting business innovations with a strategy of making major improvements of business processes so that the company can become a much stronger and more successful competitor in the market place.

Q4. Define Artificial Intelligence in business?

· It is a field of science and technology based on discipline such as:-

1) Computer science.

2) Biology.

3) Psychology.

4) Mathematics.

5) Engineering.

Q5. What is the goal of artificial intelligence in business?

· To develop computers that can think, see, hear, walk and feel.

· Develop the computer function associated with intelligence such as:-

1) Reasoning.

2) Learning.

3) Problem solving.

Q6 what are the different attributes of intelligent behaviour?

· Think & Reason.

· Use reason to solve problem.

· Learn from experience.

· Acquire and apply knowledge.

· Exhibit creativity and imagination.

· Deal with complex situation.

· Handle ambiguous, incomplete information.

Q7. What are the different application areas of artificial intelligence?

a) Cognitive science applications:-

· Expert System.

· Fully logic.

· Genetic algorithms.

· Neural networks.

· Learning System.

b) Robotics applications:-

· Visual perception.

· Dexterity.

· Locomotion.

· Navigation.

c) Natural interface application:-

· Speech recognisation.

· Voice recognisation.

Q8. Define neural network?

· These are computing system modelled after the brain’s mesh link network of interconnected processing elements called ‘Neurons’.

· Connections between neurons in the brain are not permanent.

· Neurons may be active or passive.

· Neurons that select their input variable through learning are called active neurons.

· Neurons that select their input variable without by the person in charge of modelling or by other neurons are called passive neurons.
