RWE Power is one of Europe's leading energy utilities and Germany's biggest coal miner. The company would help R-Power design and plan the engineering aspects of captive mine and procurement of equipment and ensure quality control, the company said on Thursday. Government has allocated Kerendari B and C coal blocks of North Karanpura coal fields in Jharkhand to meet the fuel requirements of the Tilaiya project. These mines have reserve of over 1 billion tonne. The company plans to produce 40 million tonnes of coal per year.
