Inspection and Servicing the Jaw Crusher

a. Make a complete visual inspection to make sure the required tools, repair parts, and pub- lications are with the equipment (TM 5-3$20- 205-10/2).

b. Visually inspect the engine, motors and mounted components for missing parts or dam- age that may have occurred during loading. Shipment, or unloading (TM 5--3820-205- 10i2).

c. Inspect the wiring, fuel and oil lines, radi- ator and hoses, fuel tank, gages, and instru- ments and lights for broken, loose, missing, or damaged parts (TM 54820-205-10/2).

d. Inspect drain plugs, breathers, fill caps, and draincucks to be sure they are secured and not leaking or damaged (TM 5-3820-20;- 10/2).

e. Inspect tires, conveyor belts, airbrake hose and electrical leads for cuts, breaks, cracks, or signs of deterioration. Correct or report any deficiencies noted and not corrected to field maintenance.

f. Perform the preventive maintenance services (par. 20).

g. When the jaw crusher is received with new dry charge batteries and electrolyte packed separately, perform the following services.

(1) Remove battery box cover and fill caps (TM 5-3920-205-10/2).

h. When the jaw crusher is received with wet batteries, service (TM 5-3820-205-10/2) and test (par. 80). For additional information on servicing, testing and battery maintenance, refer to TM 9-6140-200-15.

i. When the jaw crusher is received in cold weather, till the engine cooling system with antifreeze solution to protect the system to the lowest expected temperature. Refer to table 1. and TM 9-207 as a guide.

j. On new equipment Rush the fuel lines and fuel Alters as follows:

(1) Disconnect fuel line from the filter at the fuel pump.

(2) Drain the fuel filter (TM 5-3820- 205-10/2).

(3) Flush fuel lines and filters by operating the primer pump (TM 5-3820- 20.5-10/2).

(4) Connect fuel line at fuel pump.

(5) Disconnect fuel lines from injectors.

(6) Operate starter for 30 seconds (TM 5-3820-205-10/2).

(7) Connect fuel lines to injectors.

(8) Disconnect the fuel return line, re- move the elbow and install a plug in the pipe tee.

(9) Start engine (TAT 5-3820-205--10/2).

(10) Stop the engine, remove the plug from the tee, install the elbow, and connect the return fuel line.
